Hi everyone!
It's another cold February day in Devils Lake, but it's warm and toasty here at Kneadful Things!
I think the frozen pipe debacle is finally totally behind us, since the new carpeting has been installed in the dining and meeting room areas of the restaurant, replacing the wood laminate that was ruined by the water. We're really happy with how it looks and feels and can't wait for all of you to come in and check it out! Sit by the fireplace, have a treat and a cup of coffee and kick back! You deserve it!
And already it will be the Lenten season beginning Wednesday, so be sure to stop by to check out our great fish specials we serve on Fridays during Lent.
So, get out there and have a great week!

Happy Monday!
We're having freezing rain here in Devils Lake, and schools are closed, so I'm blogging from home today. Kneadful is open, and Dan and staff are doing their darndest to make the way safe to get from your car to the door, but watch your step out there, folks!

It's Valentine's week, so check in on valentine's cookies, chocolate covered heart brownies, and other great treats as the week goes on.

We'd like to welcome the participants in the National Junior Curling Championships going on this week at the curling club. It's a pretty amazing thing for a National Championship of anything to get awarded to Devils Lake and we hope we have a chance to meet many of you while you're in town. Best of luck, and please ignore the weird weather!

Next week we are looking forward to the activities of Shiverfest and especially to the State Quilt Show going on uptown. Look for some seriously talented craftspeople gathering to admire each other's work Feb. 20th and 21st. Kneadful Things was fortunate to host some of these ladies at a trunk show and dinner a couple of years ago, so we are looking forward to seeing some of you again as you visit the Lake Region!

That's all for today! We'll touch base later with more specials, treats and goodies! Have a great day!

Good Morning (or afternoon, as the case may be)!
We're in the middle of some reconstruction here at Kneadful Things due to our water mishap yesterday.   Seems the water really seeped up into some drywall so we needed to replace that, plus our whole dining room laminate floor needed to be torn out.
Even still, we feel confident that we can reopen for business on Thursday of this week.  Whew!  There won't be a pretty floor, but the food will still be great!  Be sure to come in and check us out during "reconstruction"!
Thanks for checking in!  Let us know via your comments if you need any updates on how things are going!

Hey everyone!

Sorry to say, but the cold North Dakota weather has thrown us a curve ball. We came in to open this morning to find Niagara Falls coming out of our ceiling tiles in the kitchen. A pipe must ahve frozen somehow and burst, so water had flooded up to an inch in some places throughout the restaurant. Needless to say, we are closed temporarily until repairs can be made to drywall, electrical, plumbing, flooring, etc., etc. Yuck! But, as we in the Janssen family usually say, "It's an 'Oh, well'", meaning, what's done is done so you may as well say "oh, well" and move forward from where you are. There are many, many worse things that could be happening to us on this Monday in January!

We are so very thankful for all of our good friends here who came running to our frantic calls for help: ServiceMaster, Matthew Mack Plumbing, Kitsch Heating and Cooling, Bergstrom Electric (esp. Darin and Kendrick), Gleason Construction, and Western Insurance. We know that all of these good people will have us back up and running in no time. We have certainly found that small town living has distinct anvantages in being able to know who to call in an emergency and knowing that they will treat your emergency like their own. Thanks, guys and gals!

Did everyone have a nice weekend? We did...very relaxing. Can't wait for warmer weather, like most of you! Touch base when you have time!
